第二篇 總說 Uddeso
(二) 373. “Ekāyano ayaṃ, bhikkhave, maggo sattānaṃ visuddhiyā, sokaparidevānaṃ samatikkamāya dukkhadomanassānaṃ atthaṅgamāya ñāyassa adhigamāya nibbānassa sacchikiriyāya, yadidaṃ cattāro satipaṭṭhānā.
「只有一條道路,比丘們!可以使眾生清淨、克服愁悲、滅除苦憂、實踐真理、體證涅槃,這條道路,就是四念住。
"This is the direct path for the purification of beings, for the overcoming of sorrow & lamentation, for the disappearance of pain & distress, for the attainment of the right method, & for the realization of Unbinding — in other words, the four frames of reference.
Katame cattāro?
是哪四個念住呢?
Which four?
☆ kāya-anu-passī 如實(anu)觀看(passī 發現)身(kāya) ➾ kāye kāyānupassī 在身體中,如實觀看、發現身體。
Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu kāye kāyānupassī viharati ātāpī sampajāno satimā vineyya loke abhijjhādomanassaṃ,
在這裡,比丘們!比丘隨時,在身體中,如實觀看、發現身體,熱誠、正知、正念,於此――身心世界,除去貪慾、憂惱;
"There is the case where a monk remains focused on the body in & of itself — ardent, alert, & mindful — putting aside greed & distress with reference to the world.
☆ vedanā-anu-passī 如實(anu)觀看(passī 發現)受(vedanā) ➾ vedanāsu vedanānupassī 在感受中,如實觀看、發現感受。
vedanāsu vedanānupassī viharati ātāpī sampajāno satimā vineyya loke abhijjhādomanassaṃ,
隨時,在感受中,如實觀看、發現感受,熱誠、正知、正念,於此――身心世界,除去貪慾、憂惱;
He remains focused on feelings...
☆ citta-anu-passī 如實(anu)觀看(passī 發現)心(citta) ➾ citte cittānupassī 在心中,如實觀看、發現心。
citte cittānupassī viharati ātāpī sampajāno satimā vineyya loke abhijjhādomanassaṃ,
隨時,在心中,如實觀看、發現心,熱誠、正知、正念,於此――身心世界,除去貪慾、憂惱;
mind...
☆ dhamma-anu-passī 如實(anu)觀看(passī 發現)法(dhamma) ➾ kdhammesu dhammānupassī 在諸法中,如實觀看、發現諸法。
dhammesu dhammānupassī viharati ātāpī sampajāno satimā vineyya loke abhijjhādomanassaṃ.
隨時,在諸法中,如實觀看、發現諸法,熱誠、正知、正念,於此――身心世界,除去貪慾、憂惱。
mental qualities in & of themselves — ardent, alert, & mindful — putting aside greed & distress with reference to the world.
